Paix et sécurité en Afrique

Paix et sécurité en Afrique

Course description:

This course reviews the dynamics of promoting peace and security in Africa since the adoption of its Constitutive Act in July 2000, which committed the AU to reject unconstitutional and violent changes of government. To this effect, it established the Peace and Security Council (PSC), which has a mandate to prevent, manage and resolve conflicts.

To interrupt the cycle of violence and conflict that has been ongoing on the continent since the independence years, the states parties to the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG) committed themselves to developing the necessary legislative and policy frameworks for the establishment and consolidation of culture, democracy and peace..
